Le Terroir

Limestone remembers what seasons forget

Our parcels sit on Kimmeridgian limestone laid down 150 million years ago — the same geological formation that runs under Chablis and Sancerre. It drains fast, forces roots deep, and gives wines a mineral spine that no amount of winemaking can replicate.

The Mistral does the rest. The cold wind that funnels down the Rhône valley dries morning dew within hours, keeping disease pressure low enough that we haven't sprayed copper since 2018.
